Royal Borneo’s origin started well before 1968, began to do local spice business in Borneo Island. The original Zhang family business owner was from Hebei Province, China. After they migrate to Nanyang (South East Asia), they started a small business in the local community selling local products to foreign Chinese. Since ancient times, honey has been a common healthy food popular among Chinese.

At that time, the Chinese who had been in Nanyang began to work as the labor force for the British government. Therefore, honey at that time was the energy source of the Chinese people, as well as medicine recipe and cooling food for the summer. The purchase of the honey harvested by local native also provided a mean of income for them. The Chinese and local native have a good relationship in Borneo Island. There is no differences, helping and respect each other. Our four generation of business remain friendly to the local native people, together we make the efforts to protect the bees, protecting the ecology of the forest and prevent harming the environment of our Borneo Island.
